The range
Shorter pads for lighter days, longer ones for heavier flow or overnight. Size and absorbency details for every pad.
A reusable option for when it suits your plans, with sizing guidance and care instructions in every box.
Wear it on its own or alongside another product. Absorbency and care details for every pair.
Sustainable period care shouldn’t cost more than the disposables it replaces. One reusable product lasts for years, so the saving adds up every month.
Most period products are designed somewhere else, for someone else. Ours start from the shapes and sizes of the women who will wear them.
A single disposable pad can take centuries to break down. Reusables cut that waste at the source, and we talk openly about why it matters.
Period poverty keeps girls home from school and women home from work. Getting products into more hands is the reason we exist.
Imara Flo gives women access to affordable, sustainable menstrual products. Products that are good for their bodies and for the environment.
We want every customer to feel secure, confident and informed about the long-term benefits of sustainable products.
Imara
Strength
Drawn from Swahili, representing resilience, confidence and the strength of women.
Flo
The rhythm of womanhood
A play on “flow,” representing the menstrual cycle and the natural rhythms of a woman’s body.
People often ask me why I started Imara Flo.
The short answer? I had questions about period care, and once I start asking questions, I tend not to stop.
The longer answer begins with my own body.
For years, I navigated fibroids, surgeries, fertility challenges and pain, while trying to carry on with life and work. Later, I learned I had a benign pituitary tumour. There were moments when getting through another appointment felt like an achievement in itself.
I spent more than 15 years working in financial services, helping organisations identify risks and ask difficult questions. Yet when it came to my own health, I often felt I had to fight to be heard. I know I’m far from the only woman who has felt that way.
We’re told to push through pain. To treat it as part of being a woman. To keep going, even when something doesn’t feel right. I began to wonder how many of us had accepted that message for too long.
Then I started looking more closely at the period products we use every month. What are they made from? How are they tested? Why can it be so difficult to find clear answers?
Those questions became Imara Flo.
I wanted to create the kind of brand I would have valued during my own health journey: one that respects women enough to be honest with them. That means asking suppliers difficult questions, reading the certifications, checking the materials and being clear about what we know. I want women to have products they can feel confident choosing and information that helps them decide what is right for their bodies.
But Imara Flo has never been only about products.
It’s about the conversations we should be having about our bodies. It’s about women who have lived with pain in silence, women who have felt dismissed, and women who want to understand their options without fear or confusion. It’s about making period care available wherever life happens: at home, at work, at university, while travelling and, yes, while dancing at a festival.
Music has been part of my own healing. On days when I felt disconnected from my body, African music reminded me that I could still feel joy. That’s one reason it matters to me that period care has a place in cultural spaces too. Our periods don’t pause because we’re out living our lives.
The name carries the heart of what I’m building. Imara speaks to strength and resilience. Flo speaks to the rhythm of our bodies and the freedom to move through life on our own terms.
I built Imara Flo from personal experience, but its future belongs to the women who shape it with us. I’ll keep listening, asking questions and working to make period care more transparent and accessible.
I’m Ednah Sibanda, founder of Imara Flo. This is our story, and we’re only getting started.

Imara Flo is a period care brand. We’re building thoughtfully designed products, practical education and a community where conversations about periods can happen openly.
It means we think about the person using the product, not just the product itself. We want you to have clear information about what you’re buying and options that fit your body, your routine and your preferences.
Our range includes period pads, menstrual cups and period underwear. You’ll find the materials, sizing and care information for each item on its product page.
Start with your flow and when you plan to wear it. A shorter pad may suit lighter days, while a longer pad can offer more coverage for heavier flow or overnight use. Check the size and absorbency information on each product page before ordering.
Everyone’s skin is different. Check the materials listed on the product page if you know you react to particular ingredients. If a product causes irritation, stop using it and speak with a healthcare professional if symptoms continue.
Cup fit is personal. Use the sizing guidance on the product page as a starting point and follow the instructions included with your cup. If you have an IUD or a health concern that may affect cup use, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
Follow the care instructions supplied with your cup, including the guidance for cleaning it during and between periods. Wash your hands before inserting or removing it.
Follow the care label for your specific pair. The product page will also explain its absorbency and whether it’s designed for use on its own or alongside another period product.
Absolutely. Your needs can change from day to day. You might choose a pad at night, period underwear while you’re out, or a cup when it suits your plans. There’s no single “right” way to manage your period.
